Welcome Back to Crafting

My honey's fave color

After a very, very long hiatus, I think it's time to revive this blog. Our original group of crafty buds has really dispersed but that doesn't mean we can't keep this going from wherever we may be. What do you say ladies?

Despite the new job, or because of it, I really need to stay grounded. What better way to forget my work-to-do-list than to bead, knit or make cards. Or simply looking at crafting books (oh how I miss that part of being in the library). I also hope that keeping this blog going again will help us all stay a little closer in terms of our crafting projects. I know we have other blogs and the end-all-be-all known as Facebook but those aren't really great places to talk crafty goodness. So let me know what you think.

The Craft Mafia

Check it out, found this group on My Space, followed them to their website, and linked to the above article. I still think we are the originators. :D

Kitty Throw

Pic 049

Not what you are thinking! The throw is from my sister Thuy! The fleece is oh-so-soft and I love the kitty stamp. On the back side, it's the solid kiwi green or whatever green it is that I love so much! Warm and snuggly. I love it.

Really, we knitted at Ruta Maya

picture 250
Really we did. This was the end of the evening and almost everyone had cleared out except us of course. It was a smaller group than usual for Dec. Knit Nite but we still had fun. Sarah started her Kitty Pi, Sonia started on a gift scarf for Amy, Shorty worked on a couple of different scarf projects and one hat (hard time deciding), Nohemi worked on a little blanket, Angela had her dad's scarf going (but we need another trip to Austin for more yarn) and I worked on Adam's hat (some news and a pic of that tomorrow, all I can say is this: think bowl, not hat). Oh, and Andrea actually showed up. No crafting but we had fun embarrassing her with a variety of topics. She sure can blush easily!

More felted goodies

I like the knitted bag for needles on the right. However, the Dr. Zuess inspired hat on the left came out too small so I will have to try again on that one.
