Ahh! Crap Monkey!

Being the newbie of the group, I have just begun to slowly knit my first project. So far, it's alright. I can see the adictive nature of this type of craft. I feel like a crack ho in progress, "Hold on, just let me do one more row!" My felllow knit-mates claim I'm doing good, but there isn't a time when I'm "knitting" that I yell out to myself, "Ahh! Crap Monkey!" because those stupid little loopy things slip off.

With my new knitting abilities, I plan to use them for good and not evil. Evil would be like when I was 13 and my Aunt Dolly gave me some neon pink and green knit sweater for Christmas and I was like "what the #@*& is this?" I feel knitted items should not be forced on others. There are those who like knit items and those of us who do not. After expressing to family and friends my new found talent, I have already gotten the, "How nice, good for you, and don't make me anything, thanks!" I only have two people in my life who might appreciate a knit scarf. I might do that for them, but I won't over load them with my creations, because then they will turn into the dad who only gets a tie for a present all the time. Until then, I am just practicing.

What is the point of knitting if not to push your knitting on other people?

Hehehe, yeah this group is full of pushers. Case in point: Me, with my supposed many hobbies. I wonder how those got started hmmmm....?! I guess I should just be glad I haven't taken up quilting yet, although does making clothes and accessories for a fake rat count? You all be the judges.

Yes, yes, let us push. Their lips say no but their necks are screaming for scarves!

Making things for a rat is cute and sweet in a weird, slightly worrisome way. BUT, you'd do the same for your nephews and niece I'm sure if they were so big. At least DwightTina's proportions are small and manageable.
